On Thursday, September 1st, The Sunapee Golf Team traveled to Farmington Golf Club for their third match of the season. Sunapee came in second place with 49 points, trailing Concord Christian Academy’s 59 points. They beat both Farmington High School and Moultonborough Academy who had 43 and 11 points respectively. Nick Pollari led the team with 19 points, followed by Charlie Gallant with 14, Sawyer Willis with 10, and Sam Gaudet with 6. This match put Sunapee to 2-6 on the season heading into their fourth match.
Sunapee’s next match was postponed due to weather conditions on Tuesday, September 6th. Therefore their fourth match was Thursday, September 8th at Newport Golf Club. In this match, Sunapee scored a season high 56 points in their second place finish behind Hopkinton High School’s 74 points, however Sunapee beat Gorham High School’s 36 points, and Newport High School’s 25 points. NIck Pollari led the Lakers with a season-high score of 21 points, followed by Charlie Gallant and Sawyer Willis with 13 points each. Mia Cahill, Morgan Summerton, and Eben Berube with 9 points each. However, only four scores can count for a match, therefore only one of their scores could be counted towards the Lakers total.
Sunapee is now 4-7 on their season and are looking for strong performances in their matches this week. The first will take place on Wednesday, September 14th, where they will have their first home match of the season against Hopkinton High School, Inter-Lakes High School, and Prospect Mountain High School.
